When her mother was pregnant with her, her father abandoned them. Her mother raised her and paid for her school fees through P7. After P7 she stayed with her uncle helping him with work during her holiday break. One day when she was alone at home she was approached by a man and was raped. She was left pregnant at 14 years of age. Helen told her mom the mans name, and the police arrested him and held him for 3 weeks until his parents were able to pay for his release. Helen lived with her mom until her son Gift was 2 years old. The man denied Gift as his son and would not give Helen money to support him. For his birth Helen went to the hospital alone in October of 2005 They both live at Another Hope.
