Projects
AHCM is dedicated to bring hope through love and care in a Christian environment to orphaned, street children and children from impoverished families in Nansana, Wakiso District and the surrounding areas. Activities are the pillars in realising this. Both to teach the children some skills and to bring in the highly needed steady income to the ministry.
The activities at present are:
- Arts & Crafts - The making of all sorts of handcrafts like purses, necklesses, dolls, etc.
- Music - The inspirational Kinene Abubaker (aka Big Brother) and Richard Kavuma regularly teach music to the children. Both a dvd and a cd have been recorded of this choir dressed in various traditional outfits!
- Projects - To provide for a steady income of the organisation, several projects have been identified, in various stages of realisation. At present these are:
- Poultry - Set up a mediumscale chicken farm on the plot of land the organisation has bought in 2007. The start-up costs of this project are approximately $30,000.
- Farming - Grow vegetables (like cassava, Irish potatoes, matoke, etc.) and/or fruits (like mango, pineapple, banana, etc) on the plot of land the organisation has bought in 2007. These vegetables can be used for own consumption and/or to sell.
- Water Life Project to provide clean & safe Water to the community
